With August right around the corner, don’t forget to use these creative holidays to promote your bar!
August 2nd – Sisters Day/Friendship Day: Get your bar packed by celebrating Sisters Day and Friendship Day. Offer any customer that brings in their sister or friend a free drink or a buy-one-get-one-free so two sisters/friends can drink for the price of one. You could also have sister vs sister or friend vs friend drinking games like a bean bag toss where every time one team gets the bean bag in the goal, the other team has to drink, or something similar.
August 10th National S’mores Day: Add one of the simplest treats to your menu for National S’mores Day! The ingredients are cheap and they’re easy to make, so remind your customers of the last time they went camping by giving them a free s’more with every meal.
August 12th Vinyl Record Day: Take it back to the 80s with Vinyl Record Day. Decorate your bar with fake (or real) records on the wall and maybe even invest in a record player to have people dance to the authentic sound of vinyl. This is sure to please everyone and remind them of the good old days when records was all they had for music. Also, have your customers bring in their own records so they can hear great music of their choice.
August 15th Relaxation Day: August is everyone’s favorite month to go on vacation, so why not celebrate Relaxation Day in your bar! Set a tropical theme with appropriate decorations, like palm tree or flower decorations on the wall. Don’t forget to top it all off with a featured piña colada! Mix 3 parts pineapple juice, 1 part white rum, and 1 part coconut cream with crushed ice until blended and then garnish with a pineapple slice.
August 30th Frankenstein Day: Don’t forget about Frankenstein Day! Offer anyone who shows up with a Frankenstein shirt a free drink or appetizer. Have a trivia contest and give the customer who knows most about the film a gift card to your bar and a free shirt. Also, play the classic movie in the background so everyone has a good time.
